NEW MANAGER ANNOUNCED

Tottenham Hotspur FC are pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Watkins as manager following the retirement of Harry Redknapp. Harry has been very successful with us but thinks it is time to finally throw in the towel and retire.
His successor, although inexperienced, is determined to do the job well and lead Tottenham into the Elite clubs of Europe - "I praise Harry Redknapp for getting Tottenham into the top four of England, but I now want to be able to lead Tottenham into the last stages of the Champions League".

£6.7MILLION OFFER FOR KEANE FALLS THROUGH

Parma's offer of £6.7million for Robbie Keane has collapsed after it emerged Parma did not have the funds to complete the transfer.
Robbie Keane was stopped at the Spurs Training Ground by journalists and he gave his take: "I'm disappointed at the collapse of the deal. These things are going to happen, but I hope this does not mean more offers won't come through. I am not getting first team football and so I will consider all options."

|||You may now post :)|||nice updates|||thanks :)
i'm planning on reporting the first match later|||am looking forward to it :)|||

Match Preview - Spurs vs PSG

Spurs Line Up
Gomes
Corluka -- Dawson -- King -- BAE
Lennon - Modric - Huddlestone - Bale
Van Der Vaart
Crouch

We See Spurs line up in a 4 - 4 - 1 - 1 formation, with Crouch starting instead of Defoe up front. Bale and Lennon take control of the wings while Dawson and King make up a solid central defensive pairing.
Spurs will be expecting to win, but PSG have proved themselves to be a tough side, so this will be an explosive start to the preseason.
|||Nice post :)
I bought Karim Benzema for my Spurs squad and he was a great addition to the team. He and Defoe made a great partnership.
I just got fired though which was a bit annoying. Especially as my career was going quite well really (World Class):
Season 1:
> Premier League - 1st place.
> League Cup - Round 4.
> FA Cup - Round 6 Replay.
Season 2:
> Premier League - 4th.
> League Cup - Semi Final.
> FA Cup - Winner.
> Champions League - Winner.
Season 3:
> Not a great start to the Premiership, fired after 9 games (Won 3, Draw 3, Lost 3).
> Still in the FA Cup and League Cup.
> Doing well in the Champions League group stage (Won 2, Draw 1).
Was surprised to get fired so early in the season, especially as I was doing well in the Cups/Champions League and with my previous success, I was confident to improve in the Premier League.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing how you get on with them :)|||thanks :)
Champions league win in your second season? nicely done, hopefully Spurs can do the same IRL :)|||

SPURS COME OUT ON TOP WITH FIRST PRESEASON WIN
Spurs 2 - 0 PSG

New manager Matt Watkins brought his Spurs side to a victory in his first game in charge, in a fairly even match-up which, judging by the first half, could've gone either way.
An early PSG free-kick on the edge of the Spurs area was blocked by the wall and cleared away as PAG started the half off bright. The rest of the half did not see many chances go either way, but Spurs could have been 1 - 0 up after the ball was squared to Crouch in the PSG box with the keeper off his line. Unfortunately, he took too long to shoot and the keeper managed to get his hands on to it and prevent an opening goal. The end of the half saw Crouch get booked for a late challenge.

HALF TIME 0 - 0

The second half started with Crouch being replaced by Pavlyuchenko. The half started with the first Spurs attack resulting in a penalty, after Chantôme Was seen to handle the ball after a cross from Aaron Lennon. Van der Vaart stepped up and made no mistake in slotting it into the bottom left corner to make it 1 - 0 to Spurs.
They had the chance to make it 2 - 0 from a corner, only to see Ledley King's header rebound of the bar and to the keeper.
A quick break down the wing from Gareth Bale saw him cross it into the box, where Pavlyuchenko was lurking to power a header home and make it 2 - 0.
Huddlestone could've easily made it 3 only to seem his shot from the edge of the area just over the bar.
The final whistle blew, and Spurs could now celebrate their first win under Matt Watkins.

FULL TIME 2 - 0
Man of the Match: Tom Huddlestone

|||good win are you going to buy any more players|||I am looking into it, yes :)
Im hoping to sign a new striker and defender, to add more depth, and because Spurs' defence needs improving
