I’m having trouble buying players, is there a way to search through clubs and selecting players through the squad lists or do you have to use the transfer player search tool?|||go onto buy players
and scroll down abit there will be an option that says league then directly underneath there is another option that says club|||cheers thanks.|||It might be useful to say if you scrole down on the options then you can select shortlisted as an option so you can view the players you have shortlisted.

Getting fired?!
Hi,
Me and a friend of mine are playing a manager game with Atletico Madrid. Right now we're battling with Real Madrid over the 1st rank in the liga (we currently are 1st over Real with 3 pts) - and we progressed in the Cup, defeating Tenerife (I think it was).
However, after a normal league game, where we won with 3 or 4 goals to nil, we got a message saying that our job is under rewview or something like that (not sure of the exact wording since i got a german version and dont speak german very well). it was clear though, that the meaning was that we soon would get fired.
I mean, were topping the league and doing well in the cup - why would the board (which, btw, is on amateur) consider firing us?!

Career Mode Players to buy?
Well, I've just started a new Career Mode with Manchester United on 13/01/11, and I need everyone to help my Career Mode become a successful one!!
I need everyone to suggest players to buy, suggest formations, suggest tactics, anything to help me progress throughout my Career Mode!!
I'll edit the thread regulary to keep you guys updated on this thread, you'll know whether I've moved up a position, moved down a position, progressed to the next round of a cup/competition or moved a trophy.
After each season I will post a season summery about which trophies I've won, how many Manager of the Month/Season awards I've been awarded and the highest transfer fee I've paid and received.
Coming Soon:
- At the end of every season be notified of which player wins the golden boot, golden glove, most assists, most red cards and most yellow cards crown.
If you have any ideas or suggestions about what you think I should do in the future to make this thread better please do not hesitate. I will comment on everyone's suggestions and will consider to use the best suggestions.

I do play them, but some players either don't grow at all even after 4 seasons of playing time, so I put them on the bench/reserves and then they drop overall.

Dalglish Wants To Bring Glory Days Back
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish wants to bring the Barclays Premier League back to Anfield. He has already signed Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Doni to the club this year and expects to bring more in.

Liverpool fans pick of Ally Cissokho has signed for 17.4M. Cissokho was signed from Lyon and is seen as a bright prospect at left back. A lot of clubs were bidding on him and its a coup for Liverpool to come out on top in this transfer battle that also saw Manchester City bid on the player. Cissokho has already been capped at international level for France and could turn out to be a really good signing for Dalglish's Liverpool.
I had no problem coming over to England to move to such a great club in Liverpool. Over in France they are seen as a massive club and play at the standard I want to be playing at. It's disappointing that the club are not in Europe this year but i'm sure we will be back in the Champions League next year. I'm looking forward to playing alongside great players that are here like Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Jamie Carragher and Pepe Reina. I'm absolutely honoured that the fans chose me from a lot of fine left backs
Dalglish has also done a bit of business that went under the radar this week. He has signed the young Brazilian talent Neymar from Santos for 15.2M. He had all the big clubs in for him. Ezekial Lavezzi has signed for Liverpool in a 25M deal from Napoli as Kenny Dalglish makes his third signing this summer. Lavezzi comes to contend with Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez and Neymar for two striking spots in the starting XI. Liverpool's squad looks to have improved massively since last year as news of a 15M fee agreed with Santos for Ganso is filtering through to us. Tackling
Apollogies if this has been discussed elsewhere but it's really really * annoying and I don't for the life of me know what I'm doing wrong. I play on legendary difficulty and the tackling seems to be absolutely impossible. Basically when I tackle someone (or attempt to) one of three things happen;
Either I'll tackle them and the ball will go out of play or,
I tackle them and the ball runs out of the tackle that I've just made directly to another opposition player or,
No matter what I do I am completely and utterly unable to tackle them whatsoever.
Can anyone shine any light on this? Does this happen to anyone else? It's absolutely infuriating as far too often a player will start some amazing run from the halfway line, dance around my defenders and smash it past my keeper leaving me completely and utterly useless. Please help.

Any suggestions on a CM story team?
Going to start (yes) another CM, wondering if anyone had some suggestions? This will be done over some time though guys|||Anyone? Looking for mainly EPL teams, I'm liking the sound of Fulham|||Yeah use Fulham and get Zamora a strike partner that's worthy. They have nice depth in defense|||Fulham would be a good choice. The majority of their best players are a little old though. Personally I'd say go with Fulham but if you wanted a younger squad with similar ratings and money you could try Birmingham|||Sunderland or Villa are half decent sides.|||I know you said you are looking for EPL team but if you want a story then Portsmouth would be a good one. They are on the brink of going into liquidation and folding as a club.
I'm going to start one with them, bringing them back up to the premier league and getting the club back on its feet.

Best Formation?
I want to know what YOU guys think is the best formation and maybe even a screen shot of it? I've tried several different formations but they all have some flaws to them but I want to find the perfect formation. :)|||4-3-3 or 4-2-2-2. Both are great for playing good football, but the 4-3-3 means that you can have a target man up front if you want, who could lay off your wingers for shots.
If you have a team with good fitness (e.g. Barcelona) then you make everyones workrates high (for both attacking and defending) and with positioning arrows to the right and left.

Players arent growing
I've done four seasons of CM so far, im on my 5th - but none of players seem to be developing, i haven't noticed any of their stats go up. Wiltshire is a massive part of my team, and he is stuck on 75 on season 5.

HELP MAJOR CLUBS PROBLEM
When i play clubs, my positions to choose from are all "unde" apart from Any.
I chose one and go onto the ready up screen and my xbox 360 freezes.

im a 5star rated manager after 3 seasons...
Why cant i manage decent teams?
i have won everything at Zenit and the best teams i have been offered are Siena and Wigan...|||any ideas why i only get gash teams to manage?
|||bump|||You usually only get offers from teams in your league. The offers from teams not in your league are all * teams. I think you should manage Madrid :) . To do so you would have to go to any team in the league you want to coach and after a season if you do well your rivals and maybe good teams will want you. After winning achieving maximum rep after my third season at Madrid the only offers I got were Barca, Atlelti, Hertha Berlin, some French teams, and Cardiff...|||thanks for the info... so again ea fail to make the simplist of features realistic

Idea for upcoming FIFAs.
Today I tried out playing on legendary. Just so you know it went really bad.
I usually play on World Class and with FC Porto I tend to get around 2 goals a game, and in big games only 1 (So far I have conceded 0). When I moved it up to Legendary, the players were way different! Their jumping was better, their shooting was better, the goalkeeper was a beast and so on...
Now what I think that EA should do is let you choose what every position's difficulty will be. Lets say you are pretty good at World Class but you think that the strikers aren't that good, you should be able to change that, making them be Legendary strikers but the rest of the team World Class. Playing with this could really help players that are trying to work on building their skills.
Just a thought.

Maybe you should just play the game at the certain difficulty you can play at.
If you're finding World Class to easy, and Legendary to hard play on Manual.
Also, are you still taking part in the Dream League? :)|||You won your first game in VALO's league vs me.

I've found another small bug aswell.
Became Dutch Champions! However, in the following Cut Scene the trophy says "KPN Eredvisie".
From 1990 to 1999, the official name of the league was PTT Telecompetitie (after the sponsor, PTT Telecom), which was changed to KPN Telecompetitie in 1999 and to KPN Eredivisie in 2000. From 2002 to 2005, the league was called the Holland Casino Eredivisie. Since the 2005-06 season, the league has been sponsored by the Sponsorloterij lottery, but for legal reasons, its name is not attached to the league.
So, my trophy is the one from 10 years ago. :)

Injured players in Manager Mode
I'm having trouble finding out how long before my injured players will be fit again. I know I get an email to say how long they will be out for, but nowhere on the bio does it say how longs left.
Where am I supposed to be looking?|||Just make a note of the day it is that they get injured and how long they will be out for. Then you can work out yourself when they should be back

As we mentioned previously, we’ve spent some time working on an update for FIFA 11 on PS3 and Xbox 360 in response to the feedback you’ve given us. Firstly, apologies for the delay in providing this updated information - there were some late changes to the content which made it impossible to talk about anything with any certainty until that was locked down.
The title update we’ve prepared – which also now includes some fixes for Ultimate Team - has now been completed and is with Sony and Microsoft for final checks, so we’re now able to tell you more about what it will contain.
FIFA 11
The three things we will address for the FIFA 11 main game are the biggest asks from the community currently, so we’re glad to be able to improve things here for you.
- Firstly, we will be fixing an issue with FIFA 11’s Clubs mode which allows clubs to unfairly end games without a penalty when they are losing: The so-called Trigger Glitch. This involves clubs arranging a disconnection to the game via the Player Ratings screen. To make extra sure that this issue is completely resolved for you, we will be removing this screen from the pause menu of all online modes.
- Secondly, we will be addressing poor teammate AI when playing as a Virtual Pro. Our fix will make sure that, no matter what difficulty you set for your opponent, your team AI will be much improved, making for an altogether better experience when playing the game in this way.
- Finally, we will correct a problem where your Virtual Pro can’t be brought into your Career Mode game.
FIFA 11 Ultimate Team
We recently released a big, complex update for Ultimate Team, bringing new Friends Leaderboards and Play A Friend Challenge features to the game. A few new issues surfaced after this release, and we’ll be addressing those as well:
- After the release of the new Ultimate Team features it became possible for some users to gain control of an opponent’s team during online play. We will stop this happening.
- We will correct an issue that prevents FUT players placing bids in auctions above 1,000,000 coins.
- We will fix a problem that causes the scrolling to accelerate uncontrollably when using the D-Pad to select a bid amount on auctions.
- Finally, dysfunctional ‘take-me-there’ links within the FUT interface will be working again.
All these fixes will be released as a single patch soon. The patch is now with Microsoft and Sony for final checks and we’ll let you know the final release date once it’s confirmed.
Thanks again for your continued feedback and support. While the three things we’re addressing for the FIFA 11 main game are big ones for the community and the update will improve the experience of the game for a lot of people, we do recognise that there’s a lot more feedback from you in other areas. We have read it all, compiled it, and have made it a central pillar of the things we’re already working on. So, for that reason, keep it coming!

Im in my career mode playing as West Bromwich and so I built up funds selling players who I wouldnt need so I buy Neymar and Romelu Lukaku for around 31 million together and just to play a game against ManU and realize that Andy Gray and Martin Tyler are imcapable of saying either of these players name I pass it to them and no commentary. Luckily I have a back up save. I have already acquired Darron Gibson so im asking should I wait on Daniel Sturridge or Danny Welbeck to be available or should I just get Edin Hazard, Jack Wilshere, Maurice Edu, or Landon Donovan all who have accepted contracts|||Hazard :)|||Benjani|||

Is there anyway to get a better search when your looking for players because when i search i usually put in the position i want and then get the best players and a few poor ones in the list and i seem to be missing out on loads of players who play in that position but just dont come up on the search.|||I would suggest you refine your search, there are now many parameters to adjust.

Fatigue problems in player career mode
So I am playing as Forlan, second season for Ath Mad. About halfway through the season I am stuck in constant red fatigue because my manager will never let me rest. I can't find any way to request a sub in-game, either, like you could in FIFA 10. This is really game breaking because it's hard to do anything when you start out the game at 10% fatigue.
Has anyone else had this problem? Am I just missing something? At the start of the season when I got tired the manager would let me sit out a game, but now he's made me play the last 8 games in a row starting at 20% fitness or less. It is really depressing and doesn't make me want to continue playing as a player.|||EA take a feature away from FIFA? Thats news to me! :)
Only thing I can think of is to literally make no effort during matches and see how that goes. Never sprint, and the second you get the ball get rid of it.
Theoretically you should get some energy back but knowing the maths EA use who knows.
Only other option may be red cards early in matches.....|||I have tried playing like a lazy moron and it doesn't help.
It didn't occur to me to just kick some poor defender in the face, though. That sounds like it might work. Although it is pretty lame if you have to purposefully foul yourself out to get some rest time.|||I know, its not something that I would want to do either but if you feel forced....

I don't think it's possible.|||This is extremly annoying. I control the whole team, with my VP being a striker, I've never been subbed. Even when I play friendly matches and my team is up 3 - 0 he does not sub me.|||No, you can't be subbed off. Nor can you sub on... I've always wanted that feature every since 09. Although the 'request sub' button was similar, I didn't like loosing some serious match rating just 'cause my manager happens to have no football intelligence whatsoever...

Not to mention actually giving your player a chance to show the manager how great you are, rather than him just saying 'K, my faith in you is restored now. Commentators are always giving my created player compliments
Like the title says, the commentators (Martin Tyler, Andy Gray) are always giving me compliments. I don't mind it that much, but they give unrealistic ones. I was a defender, and they said that I was good at scoring goals! Besides, when I'm a prospect player or something, they shouldn't say that I'm THAT good. Has anyone experienced this?

Right firstly in Bristol Cabot Circus there is a big Ea stand doing tournemants and events for gamers. I got talking to one of the Ea workers there and after discussing the problems of CM and about the s.hit.e service that the forum and customer service provide for feedback.
He did however say that he can send feedback back to Ea at the end of each week. With the stand being there until the 19th Dec.
So if anyone wants to provide any feedback on major bugs/glitches within the CM maybe this could help??? I could print off the replies and pass them on|||Would like them to stop the AI cheating if possible.
Has for Career it needs to top PES master League or they should just scrap it.

Do You Guys Play Multiple CM's Simultaneous?
Right now I have a CM with Milan, Barca, and Asenal. A lot to keep track of, but I likes me teams. Anyone else do multiple CM's like this?|||yes i do i have alot of CM's aswell hard for me to keep track of but i like em one i get bored i just switch CM team|||:) Yeah, thinking of doing one for the rest of the teams in my sig., all me favorites.

I just like to play as the normal Wigan team, as player manager on Betis and as a player for Bradford to see where I can eventually get to.|||Nope.

And if he does go to Tottenham he'll only go on a 2-3 month loan which is a waste, thats what i think. :)|||At Tottenham he will only be an inspiration. oscar cardozo finished the last season with 34 goals in all competitions and he is still 82...also javi garcia had around 9 rating in all matches and he is still 79 also...

oscar cardozo finished the last season with 34 goals in all competitions and he is still 82...also javi garcia had around 9 rating in all matches and he is still 79 also...

Do you actually get transferred in the player only part of CM and if so, how much control do you have over your destination?

I didn't. It was plain stupid and unrealistic last year. There are know 19 year old 84 rated players with no clubs in real life. This system of young players coming through clubs is great but the regen thing is horrible. They should just be made up players. simple.|||

He is a beast on my southampton team.|||There's this LM with the surename Svensson, signed him January 2011 for about £500,000, rated 61, quite pacy and great crossing. Would recommend signing him up.
I've also signed Henderson for about £500,000 off Preston, and this CB called Rauw from some time I can't remember. All of them are rated over 60, I wanted players that could do well in League 1 too, seeing as I'm 2nd at the minute.|||Is Henderson good ? :)|||This version of career mode is pretty sad. I have found it next to impossible to bring a team up from league 2 to the premier league and be competitive. You can bring a team up from league 2 pretty easy, but once you pass the championship your team cannot compete in the premier league end of story. You can't scout any good players and the Rich get richer. I have seen Arsenal Madrid Chelsea United Milan Barca and more teams continually churn out the good young talent year after year and my team (portsmouth) is stuck with a budget of about 3 mil to spend on transfers which barely buys me a 70 overall player at best. No scouting basically makes career mode * and impossible to truly have fun with considering I will probably never get to play champions league football or compete for any worthwhile trophies.... its sad to say but any FIFA prior to fifa 11 is much better in career mode. lol true, but i'm not all that interested in buying players to be honest, i would rather scout and get some good promising talent on my team and then sell them off to Arsenal or Chelsea. That is more realistic, but with the career mode we have I cant do that i'm forced to spend money in the transfer market and I get no money at all even though I should have a little bit of money to spend considering I got promoted and kept portsmouth in the prem for 1 season so far...
just as a side question what is your wage and transfer budget usually?? Like I said as portsmouth I only get around 3 mil per season and about 25k in wages. I usually just send all my money to the wage budget as I can't afford to buy anybody and I'm constantly just getting good players on loan, thats the only way to stay competitive that i've seen so far...

You need some wingbacks to add some attacking threat, also because of the growth problem there is little point having young promising players. Pains me to say it but you are probably better off selling Wilshire and co. and strengthen you bench with maybe a super quick ST to cover for Theo and Young, you also need another keeper, then maybe a cover for song in CDM.

Manager Mode: Sell or Keep Reserves?
When you start Manager Mode (say for example, Manchester United) and you have all the reserves who are around level 65 and aged 19, should you sell them, or just keep them on the bench and eventually use them?|||I like to use them, but the player growth is all mucked up so they won't improve greatley. You could sell them or keep them.|||Loan them out for the first 2-3 seasons and then sell them.
atleast then they will grow a TINY bit before you sell and will raise their value.
I have most of mine which i will be selling at the end of my 3rd season. With player growth messed up there is no point in keeping them.
I will be keeping Bebe, Macheda, Obertan, Cleverley, Raf, Fab, Smalling. Basically the main big younger players.
The ones like M James, Drinkwater etc i will be selling.|||I'd sell the reserves tbh..I normall sell the reserves that I know won't get playing time..so players like Corry Evans, Dudgeon etc I sell them all..
And with the 42 player limit they clear some space for new realistic signings..|||Loan them out, or cash in on them. :)|||you might as well sell all of them since player groth is jacked up, when they do fix it if they do, loan them all out, the ones you know will grow|||I am currently in my third season at Manchester United. I only sell reserves to make space for new ones. For example, I sold Magnus Eikrem to Ajax for £1,200,000 and went onto buy Stefan de Vrij from Feyenoord for a bargain of £3,100,000. But on another hand, I was near the end of the season and most of my top defenders were either tired or injured so I looked around at the reserves and used Joe Dudgeon in a match against Aston Villa, he proved to be an excellent defender and I am now going to use him more often. It's really up to you, but from my experience only sell them if you need too.
Up the Cherries!|||Whenever I start a new CM or a season with a new team,I look at the squad,see what players I need to buy (for example with 4.5 teams or 5 star teams I only try to find player at leasy over 80 overall,with lower teams I buy players with overalls that fit the entire team).
Then I look if I have a full 2nd team for cup matches taht aren't important or when the team is tired (including a GK-incase the main one gets injured).An I also keep some otehr backup players.|||Don't see the point in carrying more than a 22 man squad. Anyone over 21 is sold, youngsters all get sent out on loan.

I only sell reserves to make space for new ones. For example, I sold Magnus Eikrem to Ajax for £1,200,000 and went onto buy Stefan de Vrij from Feyenoord for a bargain of £3,100,000. But on another hand, I was near the end of the season and most of my top defenders were either tired or injured so I looked around at the reserves and used Joe Dudgeon in a match against Aston Villa, he proved to be an excellent defender and I am now going to use him more often. It's really up to you, but from my experience only sell them if you need too.
Up the Cherries!|||Whenever I start a new CM or a season with a new team,I look at the squad,see what players I need to buy (for example with 4.5 teams or 5 star teams I only try to find player at leasy over 80 overall,with lower teams I buy players with overalls that fit the entire team).
Then I look if I have a full 2nd team for cup matches taht aren't important or when the team is tired (including a GK-incase the main one gets injured).An I also keep some otehr backup players.|||Don't see the point in carrying more than a 22 man squad. Anyone over 21 is sold, youngsters all get sent out on loan.

On PS3. In my 5th season. Now, the squad season is all screwed up , seeing 10's and random numbers. Iif I try and make any changes it just freezes. So, I play matches and select the auto option to complete the squad. This I can deal with. The problem is when I start a game half the time it starts with only 4 to 6 players on the field. I do use a lot of different formations. Some work some don't. Then even when playing sometimes it freezes when I try and make a sub. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.|||I've figured out that changing custom tactics or possibly even formations that are being used on another save on a save being currently used can cause this, but I don't know any fixes. If you are using custom formations or tactics, make sure it is on a new save and not being currently used on any other career mode saves if you have any. That's all I can do to help, sorry if it doesn't show anything or whatever.

This game is frustrating. 7 goals and 5 assists in 20 games from a player who just turned 19 and i get the message, he is not playing well and loses a point.|||He might be playing too much, I find young players can only play 2 in every 3 games|||LOL..epic.|||
Do your young players grow when you play them at this rate? no... there isn't an answer for this, the system is simply broken. 17-21 age players do not grow correctly. Look in your My Profile link by seach under the main FIFA 11 header at the top of the page mate, both are in there...|||it says i have to type in a url for signature. how do i get url? sorry i am so stupid lol|||
Open an account at somewhere like photobuckethttp://photobucket.com/ and save the image you want to use there, a Uniform Resource Locator is the link from that site and the image..

We See Spurs line up in a 4 - 4 - 1 - 1 formation, with Crouch starting instead of Defoe up front. Bale and Lennon take control of the wings while Dawson and King make up a solid central defensive pairing.
Spurs will be expecting to win, but PSG have proved themselves to be a tough side, so this will be an explosive start to the preseason.
I bought Karim Benzema for my Spurs squad and he was a great addition to the team. He and Defoe made a great partnership.
I just got fired though which was a bit annoying. Especially as my career was going quite well really (World Class):

New manager Matt Watkins brought his Spurs side to a victory in his first game in charge, in a fairly even match-up which, judging by the first half, could've gone either way.
An early PSG free-kick on the edge of the Spurs area was blocked by the wall and cleared away as PAG started the half off bright. The rest of the half did not see many chances go either way, but Spurs could have been 1 - 0 up after the ball was squared to Crouch in the PSG box with the keeper off his line. Unfortunately, he took too long to shoot and the keeper managed to get his hands on to it and prevent an opening goal. The end of the half saw Crouch get booked for a late challenge.
HALF TIME 0 - 0
The second half started with Crouch being replaced by Pavlyuchenko. The half started with the first Spurs attack resulting in a penalty, after Chantôme Was seen to handle the ball after a cross from Aaron Lennon. Van der Vaart stepped up and made no mistake in slotting it into the bottom left corner to make it 1 - 0 to Spurs.
They had the chance to make it 2 - 0 from a corner, only to see Ledley King's header rebound of the bar and to the keeper.
A quick break down the wing from Gareth Bale saw him cross it into the box, where Pavlyuchenko was lurking to power a header home and make it 2 - 0.
Huddlestone could've easily made it 3 only to seem his shot from the edge of the area just over the bar.
The final whistle blew, and Spurs could now celebrate their first win under Matt Watkins.
