2 Player Career Mode

Hi,
Last year when playing Fifa 10 me and my flat mate used to player a 2 player career mode where you'd have control of all the players just like in a normal 2 player exhibition match where both players are on the same team. However this year when we tried to set up a player manager career at the start of each game it will only allow us to each select an individual player like in a be a pro match. We thought we were able to get around this problem by just having one player to start the game then adding the second player in the side select menu just before kick off, but this means that our VP doesn't gain any accomplishments and growing our VP is one of our favourite parts of the game.
Could anyone tell me how to get 2 player matchs in a player manager career mode?
Thanks.|||you need to press A or X (depending on the console) on the player it says you are controlling (usually the VP and the GK) it then gives you a list of the players you can control and if you go to the very top it says any so if you set both players to any you can then play 2 player controlling all the players :)
