Don't call it a bug until you know what you are talking about.
3 EPL teams go directly to CL, 1 go to CL qualification. HOWEVER, if a EPL teams wins the CL but fails to qualify for CL through EPL, that team will automatically qualify for next years CL.
Kinda funny your brain is so bugged. .|||

Completely wrong. They winner would take the place of the fourth placed team.
---Same thing happened to me OP|||Moreover it happened to me first season when there couldnt have possibly been an ECC winner.
Start of 2nd season 5 EPL teams in the ECC -.-|||

I stand corrected. My own bugged brain used Liverpool as an example, but things have changed.

An exception to the usual European qualification system happened in 2005, after Liverpool won the Champions League the year before, but did not finish in a Champions League qualification place in the Premier League that season. UEFA gave special dispensation for Liverpool to enter the Champions League, giving England five qualifiers.[25] UEFA subsequently ruled that the defending champions qualify for the competition the following year regardless of their domestic league placing. However, for those leagues with four entrants in the Champions League, this means that if the Champions League winner falls outside of its domestic league's top four, it will qualify at the expense of the fourth-placed team in the league. No association can have more than four entrants in the Champions League.
