UPDATE Nº1

Began my second season as a Manager. I had offers from various teams, including Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla, but in the end, after thinking long and hard, I decided to stay with Real Madrid, rejecting Barcelona's tempting offer.
The board expectation were a bit more complicated tha last season's, this time around I must win both the Liga and Copa del Rey. I also qualified directly to the Champion's Cup. I am going to try to battle all three fronts together, so for that, I know I must get some more players, to be able to cope with player fatigue. Due to this, I received the green light from the Board of Directives to sign players, and for that I was given a good budget improvement, as a reward for last season's results.
I am keeping the same base on the starting eleven, to keep previous results continuing. Here is the inside dirt on club news on the beginning of this new season.

News

Contracts: The players that signes last season had done so for 1 year, so some negotiations went on. all of them signed for one more year, except Nilmar, who has decide to part ways from Real Madrid, and was left as a free agent to sign for another club. Big loss for the team, given the offensive power he provided last season.
Signing Rumors: As explained before, and due to the recent loss of Nilmar, I have sent several offers to clubs looking to enlarge my squad and have a reserve team with more quality. The current offers submitted are the following:
Neymar (Santos FC) - ST - A good replacement for Nilmar, looking to get a player who can set up goals but score when needed. Value: €9 m - Offered: €11.5 m.
Ganso (Santos FC) - CAM - Last season Kaka and Di Maria were both affected by long term injuries, so I am going for a good young player to replace injured players in midfield. Value: €15 m. - Offered: €20 m.
G. van der Wiel (Ajax) - RWB - I need a substitute for Rafael, and the first name that came to mind was this guy. Value: €9.5 m - Offered: €12.3 m.
Luis Suárez - (Ajax) - RF - Same reasons as Neymar. Value: €23 m - Offered: €27 m.
Season begins after a few friendly matches. Long to go till then. Next update will come shortly.|||great, different from the other CM threads, but I like it, keep it up and good luck|||

July 2011 Summary

The first month of the season has come to an end, and quite a busy month it has been. As stated in my previous update, I have been negotiating with a few players to take on all three competitions. While some negotiations had a happy ending, others ended in disappointment.
July also was busy with the pre-season. Three friendlies were set up for Real Madrid, including the never underestimated Liverpool. It was a great chance to try out a new formation, and to test new players that joined the team. It was a positive training month and the results show it. Here are the headlines for this month's update.

News

Transfer Market:
Sales/Loans:
Pablo Sarabia (Full-season loan to Plymouth Argyle)

G. van der Wiel - RWB - Age 23 - Bought for €12.3 m from Ajax (1 year contract)
Ganso - CAM - Age 21 - Bought for €21 m from Santos FC (1 year contract)
L. Suárez - RF - Age 24 - Bought for €27 m from Ajax (1 year contract)
Injuries:
Raul Albiol: Light training injury, nothing important.
Matches Played:
14th July: Real Madrid 2-1 Liverpool
Very entertaining match played between two of the most important clubs in the world. I used his match to try out a new formation (4-2-2), and give the new guys a go. My initial formation was: Casillas; van der Wiel, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo; Fellaini, Alonso, Ganso, Özil; Neymar, Suárez. After an even first half, I realized the formation wasn't working well enough, so I went back to my previous one (4-3-3). The team hit it off in the second half scoring two quick goals (50' Neymar; 56' Özil) to demoralize the English club. It was total control for the Galacticos till the last minutes, were a good play by Torres ended in the Liverpool goal (85'). The match finished 2-1 for the home team.
Man of the Match: Fellaini (8.9). Good performances by Neymar and Ganso.
21st July: CS Sedan 0-1 Real Madrid
Another chance to try out the newly incorporated players, but this time with my trusted 4-3-3 formation. Same players on the pitch at the beginning for RM, which played a fair game, although never at it's best. Only in the 72', Ronaldo, after coming in a few moments earlier for Suárez, scored the winning goal. Good practice match.
Man of the Match: Ganso (7.3). Good game by van der Wiel and Neymar, they are proving to be good signings.
29th July: Real Madrid 5-1 FC Köln
Final friendly for this season, before Real Madrid match up to Valencia in the Spanish Supercopa. Same starting 11 that played the last two matches, and this time around they really showed off some beautiful football. With two goals from Suárez (finally!), one from Özil, another one from Neymar and the last one from Xabi Alonso, RM stepped all over their German opponents, who only got a goal after an error made by Casillas when clearing the ball. Great result to finish a positive pre-season.
Man of the Match: Suárez.

That's it for July, looking forward to the beginning of the season in August, and the group that Real will be in in the Champion's Cup.

Great squad now tell me something how is Fellaini doing?

Fellaini is doing great, he's in my starting eleven and he covers every position I need. He even scores some goals once in a while.|||

August 2011 Summary

Great start for Real Madrid! The first official matches of the season were played, two of which were the Supercup España, against last year’s Copa del Rey winner (and the team that eliminated us), Valencia. And it couldn’t have gone better, ending in the first cup Real Madrid wins under my management! You can find the details below.
On the other hand, the first match of the season was played, and the defending champions said present. Find the match report below.

13th August: Real Madrid 4-0 Valencia
First match of the Supercup. Team was looking quite nervous as they entered the pitch, especially the young players. Real Madrid went all out in the home game of the two-legged final. I decided to keep the same base as last year for this game, considering the new incorporations would be better off starting as subs. The 4-3-3 formation consisted of: Casillas; Rafael, Ramos, Carvalho, Clichy; Fellaini, Alonso, Özil, Kaká; Ronaldo, Benzema.
Last season the team had struggled in every game against Valencia, beating them only one in the four games they played. The two Liga matches ended in draws, while in the Copa del Rey matches, Valencia taught us a lesson as they beat us 0-2 at the Bernabéu, and our victory in the second leg by one goal wan’t enough to go through. This was our chances for revenge. And revenge was sweet. The team got off to an unbelievable start, when Ronaldo dished off two assists for Benzema to put RM up 2-0 before the 15’ mark. Then the magic began. Real Madrid played the best game since I’ve been managing them, and Ronaldo was the shining star, scoring the third goal by the 30th minute. The game was over, and so was the final. To add a little luxury to the result, CR7 assisted Ganso for his first official goal wearing the Merengue jersey.
Man of the Match: Ronaldo. Ganso and Neymar made their official debut.
20th August: Valencia 2-3 Real Madrid
I can finally say the Valencia curse is broken, after a mix of starters and reserves from RM defeated the other Spanish club by three goals to two. The victory was very well received, since this meant Real Madrid being crowned as Champions! Celebrations started when Benzema, the star of this final, headed in the first goal, which came late in the first half.
After Valencia looked like picking things up in the second half, even going up in the scoreboard 2-1 (51’ Mata- 63’ Acosta), the Galacticos showed a great recovery, and when Ganso scored the equalizer, everyone knew it was over. It was a matter of minutes before RM would win their first cup with me as their manager. Suárez’s last minute goal was just the cherry of the cake. Real Madrid are Champions once again!
Man of the Match: Ganso. Suárez and van der Wiel made their official debut.
28th August: Deportivo la Coruña 1-4 Real Madrid
Great start to the season by the defending champions, with an outstanding football display. Usual starting eleven on the pitch, Real Madrid said present in the beginning of the Liga. The goals were scored by Ronaldo (16’), Kaká (45’), Benzema(76’) and Fellaini(89’). Riki scored the only goal for Deportivo. Carvalho received a red card and wil be out next match.
Man of the Match: Kaká.
