Just got FIFA11 today and i'm very disappointed with the characters movements. Alot of interviews from EA staff before release where saying how the movement is personalised so that it looks more realistic and individual ( Fifa11 messi moves like the real messi etc ) but the movements of the players don't look natural at all. I started with Career Mode and the movement,
1) Sprinting: very jerky and twitchy and unrealistic, KAKA looks as if he's almost bent in half when going full on!
2) Off the ball movement: My Virtual Pro and created player when you suddenly run diagonally looks as if he's ice skating and floating along the pitch.
3) When my career player is just jogging off the ball he's like Mr burns from the simpsons with his arms bent like he's playing a piano. Was fuuny at first to i remembered i just paid £38 for it!!!
Also has anyone noticed how the players in possession always hold on to the ball far longer than they need to or ever did on fifa10 and that even with the settings off the AI seems to interfere too much! I loved be a pro on 10 where you start off low and earn points to improve your player but ( excluding virtual pro) in 11 when you create a pro there is no limit, you could start with 99 rating so wheres the ambition if you can't improve and can start a 15 season career 9 higher than Messi! No creativity.
I could'nt wait for this to come out the realistic gameplay has been over developed to the point where it looks unatural and twitchy. i'm now back to FIFA10 which of course wasnt perfect but the characters movement is smoother and more humanlike and don't look like their break-dancin!
It's just a pity EA is more concerned with developing their football manager and multiplayer side of things every year and have forgotten that fifa is and always has been mainly about realistic football gameplay on the pitch, a good addition is the be a goalkeeper mode and as i said they have enhanced manager/multiplayer modes year on year but their 360 gameplay and movement are more fifa08 than 11|!!
I'm gutted EA, lets hope your Medal of Honor is not like this and has characters who can run, kick and shoot correctly!!!!!!
